He provided redemption for his people (Psalm 111:9)
There is a tendency to think of the God of the Old Testament as, first and foremost, the lawgiver, but, here, we have something that came before the law, something that takes priority over the giving of the law: “He provided redemption for his people.” We are called to do what God tells us to do, but first, we are called to give thanks to him for what he has done for us.
Think about what you are thankful for today and give God the thanksgiving He deserves!
