In His Hands
“For I am the Lord your God, who upholds your right hand,
Who says to you, ‘Do not fear, I will help you.’
The last couple of days have been lovely spring days in Fife. The sun is shining, birds are singing and if feels pleasantly warm. Yesterday I had a gentle walk to the local park with my daughter and wee grandson. Little did I know my daughter snapped today’s picture, she always had that sneaky quality haha. The picture much to my surprise has become a favourite amongst our family and friends on social media, which gave me reason to pause and look at it with different eyes, as if it were strangers in the picture. Through this I can see the attraction, grandfather and his grandson walking hand in hand can awaken memories. For me though it reminds me of other things.
The main thing that occurred to me is my relationship with my Father God, and the promise of His constant protection. He holds my hand just like I hold my grandson’s hand, he leads me in the right direction and keeps me safe from serious harm. I would not release my precious grandson to run into the road or to become lost, so it is with my Father God in life. It is because my grandson knows he can trust me, that he submits to my love and care. And so it is with God, I trust Him and submit to His love for me each day. “In God I have put my trust, I shall not be afraid. What can man do to me?” (Psalm 56:11).
Dear reader, are you trusting in your Father God each day? Do you reach out to Him in prayer regularly, putting your hand in His? The Bible promises us that He hears our prayers if we ask according to His will, (1 John 5:14). Be assured of this final thing brethren, your Father God will hold you in His guiding hand always (Psalm 48:14 ESV).
