My Forever Friend

Seek the Lord and His strength;
Seek His face continually.

Psalm 105:4 (NASB)

 One of my memories of school many years ago is how much effort folk put into being liked by the popular kids. These individuals were either wealthy, sporting heroes or just good looking. Such shallow affinities rarely made lasting friendships. Real friendships that last the test of time are built on mutual respect and love eventually.

It is our need to be loved that drives our search for friendship. The Christian’s ultimate friend is God our Father, through the Love of His Son Jesus Christ. For the believer this is a lifelong relationship that requires effort; true friendship is a two way street with effort from both parties. To be a true friend of Gd as Abraham was (James 2:23 ) we must seek Him, and seek Him often every day.

Dear reader, have you spoken with God today? How often do you spend time with Him, just being together?
