If you have asked God for forgiveness of your sins

If you have asked God for forgiveness of your sins, you are a saint in Christ. And what is a saint? The NIV translates it as “God’s holy people”. Then what does it mean to be one of God’s holy people? It means you are different from others. It means you have been set aside for a special purpose. And it means you were made special and set apart because God Himself did the work to make you worthy of His purposes. People who are holy, those who are saints, live extraordinary lives. Now, don’t get me wrong, we all have ordinary days when it seems nothing special occurs. But the overall trend of the lives of the holy people is to impact the world for Christ. And how does that happen? Because you are a faithful sister or brother, staying close to your Lord and obeying His word. Because you spend time in His presence and heed the gentle proddings of the Holy Spirit. The greatest impacts God has in the lives of people begin in the quiet moments of the faithful. A powerful move of God through you has its origin in the times when you were alone with God in prayer and study. Never discount the critical value of the daily discipline of your faithful communion with the Lord, because from it God will send you on a greater mission and give you impact beyond your imagination.

To the saints and faithful brothers[a] in Christ at Colossae: Grace to you and peace from God our Father. Colossians 1:2 ESV
