Do You Doubt God?
Have you ever wondered how you can truly feel the embrace of God’s love?
It’s a often-asked question, especially when life’s challenges appear to be stacked against us. But don’t let the circumstances you find yourself in on this earthly journey fool you.
If you were to rely solely on those circumstances, you might even start doubting whether God’s love is truly present. There are times when life’s troubles can feel all-consuming.
“For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will hardly die for a righteous person; though perhaps for the good person someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us,” (Romans 5:6–8).
When we were still lost and helpless, Christ death on the cross changes everything. At just the right moment, He gave up His life for us, the ones considered ungodly.
Think about it — would any human really die for someone who’s unrighteous? Maybe, just maybe, for a truly perceived good person, someone might dare to make that sacrifice.
But here’s the point— God’s love shines through in a remarkable way. When we were still in the midst of our sinful ways, Christ chose to die for us.
Paul’s words echo with the story of Christ’s sacrifice on that cross. When we feel powerless and utterly lost, that’s the moment to reflect on the gospel and the salvation it brings. This is how you grasp the undeniable proof of God’s love for you.
God’s grace is like no other. He sent His own son to lay down his life for us. Wrap your mind around that for a second. It’s hard to fathom human love being that selfless.
Let’s be honest, you wouldn’t readily give your life for a criminal or a murderer. Human love doesn’t usually extend itself as a sacrifice for wrongdoings.
But let’s shift our focus to God. He didn’t just say He loves us; He proved it. Even while we were steeped in sin, Christ chose to lay down His life.
Wrap your head around that level of love. Think about it — we were, at one point, God’s enemies. Yet, His love still shone through. God’s love doesn’t care about the messiness we bring before Him. In fact, it’s the most profound display of love this world has ever witnessed.
So, the next time you’re in doubt about whether God truly cares, remember the ultimate sacrifice He made. Reflect on His love and grace, which go beyond the circumstances and struggles of this earthly existence. It’s a love like no other, one that’s willing to give up everything for you.
