Now is your time of grief
John 16:22
So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy.
There is no greater sorrow than that of ambiguous grief. This is a loss or losses that we are unable to name. A loss of what a potential future may have looked like, or looking back on our life and grieving what we wish or think our life should have been.
Perhaps you lose the love of your life, and with it, you believe you have lost your potential, and ability to ever be happy again. Your perceived future with this person, your dreams, your joy… are all dashed.
This leads to immense sorrow, that unfortunately will never heal. Our only way to peace is to try and name the grief, and to lean on our only hope for comfort which is God.
If you are experiencing this type of loss… I understand how hard it is.. like you just don’t know how to survive another day… you have no hope..because you believe you have been stripped of the future and life that you were destined to have. Only God has the answers to such difficult thoughts and pain.
Hold on to the promises of God and remember that there is a purpose for everything you have ever faced, and lost. You are not alone.
