The purpose of prayer is to communicate with the Father and connect with His heart for the world. His heart is love! And not just empty, flippant love-but the kind of love that gave His life for the world.
His love was active all throughout the life and ministry of Jesus as He healed people, taught people, fed and led people. And today, His love is active through us, His church.
Today, how can we live out His love? In our communities, we can serve a neighbor by taking in their trash, helping with their yard work, or taking them a meal. At work, we can help our co-worker who is struggling with a project. In our families, we can find ways to go above and beyond what is expected.
Today, let’s pray for the faith it takes to make His love in us an action. Let’s pray for ways to live out His love for the world around us as we seek to REACH everybody for Him!
Father, thank you for loving us in more ways than we can imagine. Thank you most of all for giving your life on the cross to pay the price for our sin. I pray you give us, Your Church, the faith it takes to live out the love You’ve put in us. In Jesus’ name, amen.
