Slowing Down Evil and Climate Change

The challenges of evil and climate change are pressing concerns in our world today, touching every aspect of life.

Evil, in the biblical sense, refers to both moral corruption and actions that oppose the will of God and a force that corrupts societies and distances people from God. Our world is uncertain. Riots, chaos, gun violence, natural disasters, failure, bankruptcy, and illness mean we have no guarantee of safety.

While the uncertainties of our world are multifaceted and complex, the Bible provides timeless wisdom and guidance. It encourages faith, prudence, stewardship, unity, and discernment. Fighting evil involves dismantling systems of injustice—standing against corruption, violence, and greed. For example, the prophet Micah summarizes this call: “He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” (Micah 6:8, NIV).

Prayer is presented as a primary means of seeking God’s help in resisting evil. The Lord’s Prayer itself includes the petition, “deliver us from evil” (Matthew 6:13).

Paul encourages believers to “not be overcome by evil but overcome evil with good” (Romans 12:21). This means actively seeking to replace harmful actions with constructive ones: forgiveness instead of vengeance, generosity instead of hoarding, patience instead of anger.

Many religions have strict guidelines regarding sinful behavior. For instance:

• In Christianity, sexual immorality often includes lust, premarital sex, adultery, sodomy, fornication, incest, prostitution, and homosexuality.
• Some common sins include: Seven Deadly Sins (pride, greed, lust, envy, gluttony, wrath, sloth), sins of action, attitude, neglect, power and intent, and sins against God, others, and oneself.
• Just because you are a believer does not mean you will make it to heaven when the time comes.
• You believe there is one God. Good! But the demons believe that, too! And they shake with fear. James 2:19

Educating individuals about healthy sexual behavior, consent, and respect is crucial in addressing issues related to sexual immorality.

Leviticus 18:22
You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination.

Exodus 20:14
You shall not commit adultery.

1 Corinthians 6:18
Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body.

Hebrews 13:4b
for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous.

Galatians 5:19-21
Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Repent and turn to God: Genuine repentance and a renewed commitment to obeying God’s laws should be the primary response to challenges, including environmental issues

• Resist temptation and pursue righteousness: The Bible encourages fleeing from evil desires and pursuing righteousness, faith, love, and peace.

All believers need to start praying several times a day asking for God to helping us making our Leaders in all walks of life accountable for not providing proper justice for evil doers and getting rid of greed for power and money.

Churches needs to explain to the masses how to accept Jesus as their savior. They also need to explain to the masses about sinful ways which will not allow them into heaven.

Prayer:

I pray for strength and courage to overcome these desires. Please break the control and manipulation of sexual thoughts and images and other sinful ways over my mind and body. I ask for your healing grace to come and free me from all consequences of sin. In Jesus name I ask this in.
