Waiting On God

Waiting is perhaps one of the most annoying experiences of life. 

We wait to receive help, we wait for a deserved promotion, we wait to find a spouse, and the list could go on! In essence, we wait in the hope of obtaining what we want. However, what does it mean to wait on God? What are God’s promises to us that we should be waiting for? God through the Prophet Jeremiah said this: “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” (Jer. 29:11) In order words, waiting upon the Lord is in the steadfast hope of enjoying eternal life in His glorious presence. 

We sure can’t hope for righteousness in this world, which gets worse by the day. The world is impatient because it has no hope of promises to be fulfilled, and rather reflects a grab-as-you-go attitude. 

As believers however, we wait for the promises of God, the reason we are enjoined to seek the Kingdom of God above all. The Prophet Habakkuk (2:3) said this: “For the vision is yet for an appointed time; but at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.” Is our hope in God or do we expect hope from this world?

What André started out as a daily message to his sons in 2019, has grown into daily messages to all who wish to receive them. While he didn’t have a clue he was to share these messages with the world, the Lord put on his heart in 2020 to do so. The purpose of his daily messages is to remind those of us who know Christ as Savior and Lord, that He is present in this world and in our lives. André desires to keep each one “Short and To The Point,” so you will take time to read them. They are NOT related to opinion. They simply “Point to Scripture.” He leaves us with a one sentence “Challenge thought” to help us live out our commitment to focus on Christ and live by His word.
