When I was a boy, my Grandfather said,
“You Are Not what others say You Are. Son, You Are What God Says You Are!”
My Grandfather said, “I don’t think that any of us like it when people call us names, criticize us and say things that are negative, unkind, and untrue. We don’t have to listen to those people. We just need to listen to what God says about you. You can always trust that what God says about you is true.”
What my grandfather said has always helped me and I hope it will help you too.
God has said you are:
Ambassadors for Christ Jesus: Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making His appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.” (2 Corinthians 5:20)
A New Creation: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” (2 Corinthians 5:17)
Capable: “I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13)
Children of God: “See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are.” (1 John 3:1a)
Chosen: “You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in My name, He may give it to you.” (John 15:16)
Created in Christ Jesus for Good Works, “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” (Ephesians 2:10)
Favored: “to the praise of His glorious grace that He favored us with in the Beloved.” (Ephesians 1:6)
Forgiven: “For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you…” (Matthew 6:14)
His Friend: “No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you.” (John 15:15)
Loved by Him: “The LORD your God is in your midst, a mighty One who will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness; He will quiet you by His love; He will exult over you with loud singing.” (Zephaniah 3:17)
Made in His image: “So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.” (Genesis 1:27)
More Than Conquerors: “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.” (Romans 8:37)
No Longer Condemned: “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” (Romans 8:1)
Overcomers: “For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.” (1 John 5:4)
Righteous and Holy, “You are witnesses, and God also, how holy and righteous and blameless was our conduct toward you believers.”
Salt of the earth: “You are the salt of the earth…” (Matthew 5:13a)
Temple of the Holy Spirit: “Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God?” (1 Corinthians 6:19a)
The light of the world: “You are the light of the world.” (Matthew 5:14)
Valuable to God: “Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.” (Matthew 10:31)
God loves you. Please read the Bible.
