Why is the world always in such chaos

Why is the world always in such chaos? Why are people always in conflict with one another? And can it get better before Jesus returns? The answer is no…and yes. No, the world as a whole will not be free from chaos and conflict until Jesus returns. But yes, in specific situations chaos and conflict can be eliminated. What are those situations? When people share the same hope of the resurrection and therefore have the Holy Spirit living inside them. The Pharisees and Sadducees were both Jewish groups. So why were they at odds? Because the Pharisees believed in the resurrection of the dead (even though they did not yet recognize Jesus as the Messiah) and the Sadducees did not believe in the resurrection. Beloved, is there anything more discouraging than believing that when this short life is over there is nothing else? And if there is nothing else, then why not just do whatever you want to satisfy your desires? Hence chaos and conflict. But when people have a shared hope of resurrection and have the Holy Spirit living inside them, the desire for unity in love becomes overwhelming. God in us leads us to love like God loves us. Jesus coming back from the dead and sending the Holy Spirit aren’t just more proofs that He is God, but they are also the reasons for our hope and the catalysts for everything that we do to love one another.

Now when Paul perceived that one part were Sadducees and the other Pharisees, he cried out in the council, “Brothers, I am a Pharisee, a son of Pharisees. It is with respect to the hope and the resurrection of the dead that I am on trial.” And when he had said this, a dissension arose between the Pharisees and the Sadducees, and the assembly was divided. For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, nor angel, nor spirit, but the Pharisees acknowledge them all. Acts 23:6-8
