Making the Wrong Right

Making the Wrong Right

When there’s some sort of feud going on between individuals, we say that there is bad blood between them. It’s a feeling of intense hatred.

Spiritually what you might say is that before someone came to know Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord there was bad blood between them and God. But through Jesus’s death and resurrection those who were God’s enemies are now become His best friend.

“But God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, He will certainly save us from God’s judgment. For since we were restored to friendship with God by the death of His Son while we were still His enemies, we will certainly be delivered from eternal punishment by His life.” (Romans 5:8-10)

It is through Jesus pure and undefiled blood, His “good blood,” that we can be restored to what was lost back in the Garden of Eden.

“And what a difference between our sin and God’s generous gift of forgiveness. For this one man, Adam, brought death to many through his sin. But this other man, Jesus Christ, brought forgiveness to many through God’s bountiful gift.” (Romans 5:15)

But what about our relationships with one another, what are we to do when there is bad blood between us?

Simple, apply Jesus’s blood to our bad blood relationships. The Apostle Paul said not only are we to bear with one another, that is not only are we to make allowance for each other’s faults, but also apply the blood of Jesus to the sin just as Jesus applied His blood to our sins.

Prayer:

“Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do.” (Colossians 3:12-13)
