The Ministry of Reconciliation
To reconcile is mainly the act of helping two opposing parties come together in agreement. And so, God has given believers the ministry of reconciliation; that is, He uses us to tell the world that they can be reconciled and made right with God through Jesus Christ.
“God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.” (2 Corinthians 5:19)
But for this ministry of reconciliation, we first need to have the ministry of presence, that which we looked at yesterday (https://lnkd.in/gSKrpXhA), which is the ministry where we reach out to others bringing comfort and joy to those in need.
In the end, this ministry of reconciliation is what the Great Commission is all about; to go and make disciples of all nations, bringing them the wonderful good news of Jesus Christ, and how He took our place and died the death we all deserve so that we can live for eternity with Him in heaven.
