How did Jesus describe how we must live our life to follow Him as Lord?

Matthew 16:24, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.”

Why?

Matthew 16:25, “For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.”

Matthew 10:38, “He who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.”

As such He added:

John 8:12, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”

John 8:31-32, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

What’s more?

John 13:34-35, “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Therefore:

John 14:15, “If you love Me, keep My commandments.”

John 15:10, “If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.”

John 12:26, “If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor.”
