JESUS DIDN’T LEAVE US ALONE.

HE ASKED HIS FATHER TO SEND HIS

SPIRIT TO LEAD US AND GUIDE US,

TO TEACH US AND TO HELP US

REMEMBER EVERYTHING JESUS SAID:

““If you love me, keep my commands. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.” John 14:15-17 NIV

“Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;” 1 Corinthians 6:19 NIV

“But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.” John 14:26 NIV

HIS SPIRIT WILL HELP US DO

EVEN GREATER THINGS:

“Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.” John 14:12-14 NIV

Jesus clarifies how to follow him if we’re SERIOUS about doing so.

He shows us how to apply his teachings in an ACTIVE way, bearing fruit, unlike the PASSIVE way that most Christians teach others about the gospel message.

The difference between the two is the difference between walking the narrow path that leads to life vs. the way to lead others to the lake of fire with a false / incomplete gospel.

The PASSIVE gospel says that Jesus did it all, you’re saved already, and nothing additional is required.

The ACTIVE gospel of Jesus is made clear by the conditional “IF” statements in John chapter 15:

““I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” John 15:5 NIV

“If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned.” John 15:6 NIV

“If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.” John 15:7-8 NIV

““As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love.” John 15:9-10 NIV

Jesus: Obey, work, and bear fruit.

Greg’s passion for Bible study began when his wife, Janel, introduced him to a local men’s BSF group. The daily discipline of God’s Word drew him into closer fellowship with the Lord and inspired him to share Scripture-based reflections on LinkedIn. His mission is to encourage believers to study the Bible for themselves, examine their faith, and live with the assurance of eternal life in Christ. Greg and Janel live in Sterling Heights, Michigan, and enjoy time with their two married children, Emily and Jordan, and their grandson, Jack.
