Satan comes only to steal and kill and destroy you

Genesis 3:1, “Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?”

If Satan’s enterprise was successful in the perfect, sinless world, how much greater success will he have with everybody else born into sin?

Many Christians want the spirituality Jesus offers as long as it provides all their needs, and doesn’t confront their sin. The problem is that is not the nature of true Christianity. Jesus offers salvation to those who believe in Him and obey His commands, not just the ones that suits their sinful lifestyle. The modern church desperately needs to learn the truth about the origin of sin and its impact. The source of sin was the disobedience of man.

Satan, purporting to know God better than we do, cannot force disobedience, he can only suggest it. He works feverishly, using any medium necessary, to contribute to plunging people into temptation. Satan is defined as our adversary and our opponent, he is the accuser of the brethren. Satan is most satisfied when he is indicting us after leading God’s people into temptation resulting in sin.

In 1 Peter 5:8, Peter writes, “Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.”

Nowhere is Satan’s character and strategy better identified than in the book of Job, the most righteous man on earth. “Does Job fear God for nothing?” Satan replied. “Have you not put a hedge around him and his household and everything he has? You have blessed the work of his hands, so that his flocks and herds are spread throughout the land. But now stretch out your hand and strike everything he has, and he will surely curse you to your face.” He’s saying, “Come on, of course he’s loyal to You, his loyalty is grounded in self-interest. He has everything. I hate to tell this, but, his faith is hypocritical, if you take everything he has away, surely he will curse You!” Satan is insinuating that God is naïve.

If Satan cannot destroy your faith, he will seek to destroy you by causing you to be disqualified for God’s Kingdom. If God threw Satan and 1/3 of the angels out of heaven for their sin of disobedience, you need to be aware He will throw you out of heaven for your disobedience.

In John 10:10, Jesus warns us, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy.”

Satan is relentless in trying to destroy people, because if he can knock off the best of God’s people, surely the lesser ones will fail.

The church now stands as the witness in the world, is it any wonder why Satan is working to destroy the church with the same strategy he in the Garden; “Did God really say?”

John 8:31, “If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine.”

Those who choose to believe what men say about God’s Word rather than what God Himself says will soon find they have been deceived by Satan’s lies.

Brian Monzón grew up attending church with his grandmother. Through her actions, she impressed upon him the power of the prayers of the righteous, as she herself spent many hours kneeling before God, praying for her family and the needs of others. Besides being a pastor, Brian has been studying and teaching the Word of God for many years. He has devoted his life to sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ, praying with and for others, especially the unsaved. Brian is also a proud father of four children. He challenges them to be their best and has strived to raise his family up in church and on the Word of God. To discover more about Brian and his ministry please visit Brian Monzón Ministries.
