A Scripture and a Prayer: “A Dangerous Love”
Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.” (1 John 2:15)
Prayer:
Lord, help me to keep the focus of my love and devotion squarely upon You, and not allow worldly things and desires creep in, so that my love becomes divided. Such a love, and such a division is dangerous. You said to the church of Laodicea that because they were neither hot nor cold, but rather lukewarm in their relationship with You, that You were going to spit them out of Your mouth. Therefore, Lord, may my love for You never grow cold, or lukewarm, and that no matter what the circumstances of life may be, I will continue to love You and that my love for You continues to grow. And this I ask in Jesus’s name. AMEN
