Samuel’s prayer for victory against the dreaded Philistines
I happened to be reading this morning Samuel’s prayer for victory against the dreaded Philistines. God moved powerfully. In celebration, Samuel took an rock and put it smack-dab in the middle of the battlefield. Samuel named the rock Ebenezer. Ebenezer means “stone of help”. God is our help/rock and moves in our midst.
As we were leaving I wanted to take one last look at the Grand Canyon. It is 277 miles long and 18 miles wide. It is majestic and magnificent yet how much more majestic and magnificent is the Creator/Artist who called it into existence. Our Rock and our Redeemer is the grandest of all. I take heart that He paints on the canvass of our lives in a way we can’t even imagine. No wonder Donna keeps singing, “How Great Thou Art”.
