CAUTION
I got a good piece of advice when I was a young man. It went like this, “Whenever you hear a man of God has fallen, don’t gloat or throw stones but get down on your knees and pray for your own heart.” But by the grace of God there go I. Rarely do major blow outs occur, only slow leaks over time.
In the Old Testament, kings were warned to not multiply wives, gold, or horses. In other words, be careful with the temptations of money, sex, and power. Good counsel for leaders, pastors, politicians, and everyone.
Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. Proverbs 4:23
Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me and lead me in the way everlasting. Psalm 139:23-24
Therefore, let him who thinks he stands take heed that he does not fall. 1 Corinthians 10:12
