Accepting What Christ did on the Cross

This day with God will be amazing because as people of faith, we will not miss what is obvious. We will read the Word today in 1 Samuel 23 with the objective of collecting thoughts, ideas, and guidance that will be applied in our life. By accepting what Christ did on the Cross, we will be able to factor in the amazing and unseen qualities that keep us stepping ahead to victory.

Today, we read about David saving the town of Keilah from the Philistines who were enemies of the people and stealing their grain. David had prayed for guidance before he made the decision to save the town and the Lord gave thoughts, ideas, and instructions for victory.

Saul persistently went after David, so David continued to seek guidance from the Lord. Like David, we face enemies in life like worry, fear, anger, or other situational pressures but we sometimes lack faith in the Lord who is on our side. We need to be more confident that He will continue to thwart the enemy just as He did to Saul by setting things up and distracting the enemy.

Many seek experts in certain fields to help in decisions but the steps we take that are directed by the Lord get us to places beyond what could be imagined. Listening for instructions in our prayers and reflection from His Word provide us with a great advantage when facing our enemies in life. The Holy Spirit tells us where to go and what to do while our Father is freed up to take on the enemy.

Father … we come to You today thankful even during adversity for You are a Good … Good Father that protects and directs. By accepting what Christ did on the Cross, we have the Way, the Truth, and the Life everlasting. Amen.

Mark Shields, Thanks for reading! This blog started from a small Bible Study group several years ago with just a few followers and now has grown beyond what I would have imagined. I’ve found it to be a great tool in my journey through the Bible and you, my readers are holding me accountable to daily Bible reading and study.

We live in a busy world with busy schedules and being able to share some thoughts about this journey with others across this world through the Internet is truly a blessing
