The Chain That I Must Break

Tom’s favorite song of all time is Bob “Dylan’s Every Grain of Sand”. It’s a song about those way-points on life’s journey when you find yourself utterly broken; that moment when you hit rock bottom and you know that something has to change. And, it’s about the life-changing grace that is found in those moments. His favorite lines from the song says, “Like Cain, I now behold this chain of events that I must break.”

Josiah and Picking The Wrong fight

Josiah and Picking The Wrong fight

After celebrating Memorial Day a few days ago, Cameron Buettel reminds us to never forget the importance of those who served; that we remember and celebrate the bravery of those who died to preserve and protect the freedoms we enjoy. And it’s a valuable reminder that their deaths were not in vain—that some things are worth dying for.

When The Lord Makes No Sense

Have you ever prayed about a problem and believed God for an answer, only to have the problem worsen? Have you ever cried out to God in prayer and seemingly received nothing from Him to meet your pressing need? Can you relate?

Personal Testimony of Tom Swartzwelder

The place was unimportant, the people around me were unimportant, and the time was unimportant. What was important was that I moved from unbelief to belief! I believed Jesus was truly enough! I trusted or committed my soul to Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior. Have you? Will you trust and commit to Jesus?

No Man is Above The Law

Do you know who I am? I am the electrician in this plant; I have been for 32 years. I don’t need you to tell me how to do my job. I know what I am doing. Now, you get out of my way, go stand by your machine operator and I will have you back to work in few minutes . . .

Easy Street

Christians are not immune to adopting the Easy Street philosophy. The vast majority of us desire (and subconsciously expect?) to live problem-free lives. I mean if we walk with God, He should certainly keep His dear children from ever skinning a knee or any difficulties, right?

Christian Fathers and Sons

God gave us the template for fatherhood. It is a fatherhood of stability and order, nurture, tenderness and support, a love for one’s children that lifts them up to find the meaning and purpose for which God created them . . .

Be A Witness For Christ In Coming Days, Even If It Hurts

Be A Witness For Christ In Coming Days, Even If It Hurts

Perhaps the barbaric Brave New World we are entering will provide opportunities for your greatest witness as you stand with the light of Christ, shining in you, against the darkness of a twisted generation of unbridled depravity. . . The future threatens to be difficult for Christians. . . are you prepared for what comes your way?

The Comfort of God Draws Me Closer

What Can God Do?

Calvin was asked, “What was God doing before He created the heavens and the earth?” He responded, “Creating Hell for people who ask such questions.” Of course, he was not serious, just making a serious point that “The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things that are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, (WHY?) that we may do all the words of this law.” (Deut. 29:29) Many things are reveled for us to know, and to do. Master these and leave the secret things to God.
