Fulfilled In Him
And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:19 (NASB)
There are many blessings in life, one of which is a good Sunday dinner of roast chicken and all the trimmings. The smell of the roasting chicken tickles your nostrils and start the rumbling of the tummy, and after the meal is finished, we tap our belly in satisfaction – our hunger has been fulfilled. Being thus fulfilled reminds me of God supplying ALL our needs in life; or more accurately “God will FULFILL all your needs.” The Jews, when they would comfort any, under the loss of any worldly enjoyment, used to say, “God fulfil”, or “will fulfil thy need.” (John Gill Commentary).
The riches of our Father God are beyond measure, in both His Holy characteristics and the riches of the universe at His disposal. When we are in need, we often go to a friend who we know can help us; the willingness and ability of God to help us in our need goes well beyond that of our friends in this life. His fulfillment of our needs is a holy completion that shines forth the glory of His love, at the hands of His Son, Jesus Christ.
Dear reader, in your needs bring them prayerfully first to your father God. Lay your quandary before His Son Jesus Christ, that He may intercede with the Father on your behalf. Our God is a loving Father who hears His children’s prayers and fulfills all their needs in His glory.
