~ Growing Old ~
By Deborah Ann Belka
When your pain is unrelenting,
And no pill will make it ease
When your bones start to creak
and moving is no longer a breeze.
When you lift up your arms,
And a twinge runs down your spine,
When your hips throb at night
And all you do is wince and whine.
When your knees cannot bend,
And your feet are too sore to hold you up
When your fingers are too stiff to move
And someone has to lift your coffee cup.
When sleep and rest does not come,
When the only fun you seem to have
Is writing something witty on your blog.
When your body starts to go downhill,
And your sanity follows it along
That’s when you know you’re getting old,
And let’s face it ~
In my book, that’s just wrong!

Isaiah 46:4
King James Version
“And even to your old age I am he;
And even to hoar hairs I will carry you:
I have made you and I bear;
Even I will carry, and will deliver you.”
