INVESTING YOUR LIFE IN THINGS THAT ARE ETERNAL
When I was in my twenties, I had a mentor who used to say, “There are two races you can run… the temporal and eternal. There are two kinds of investment portfolio’s … one temporal and one eternal. Put your greater emphasis on the eternal.” He said, “One day everything will burn up so make sure you lay up treasure in haven.”
I can think of three things that are eternal: Jesus Christ, human beings, and the Word of God. Ten thousand years from now these three things will still matter.
This counsel is just as good today as it was many years ago.
We often hear “Life is short…better enjoy it!”
How about “Eternity is long…better prepare for it.”
