Jeff,
I just wanted you to know how much I appreciate you as my pastor! I had known of Jeff Pratt from student publishing at LifeWay, but had no clue what type of pastor and preacher he was. I found out very quickly by hearing you preach with a passion for the family and holding the highest regard for God’s Word that you were the real deal.
But not until I began serving on staff at Immanuel during COVID and having firsthand experience of your wisdom and leadership did I really begin to understand the multi-faceted aspect of who you are. I was excited to see how you laid out the vision for the church staff but knowing that, as an interim, I would not be a part of its execution was a little disappointing. On the other hand, now as a lay person, I know that Immanuel’s greatest days are ahead of us and due much to your vision and leadership. That obviously comes from God Himself.
Words just cannot express the appreciation I have for the grace you showed during a very difficult pastor selection process. I believe I can honestly say that I have never seen such peace and grace displayed under what had to be a confusing and frustrating time.
But when you worked through the frightening period of Julie having COVID and coming closer to death that anyone could imagine will always serve as an example of trusting God in the worst of circumstances. She and you were in our prayers on a consistent basis through the entire ordeal and we are all so grateful to Almighty God that in His sovereignty, He led you both through that dark, dark valley. I know there is no “Pastors’ Wives’ Training Institute,” but if there were, Julie would be the Chancellor. She does such a great job of being so inclusive of the newbies and truly has the gift of hospitality which she, obviously, loves exercising.
I guess, in short, I’m saying that Zannie and I are honored to call you friend as well as Pastor.
