– Man to Man –
The “Great Man” Theory – Debunked!
The idea of the “Great Man” theory of leadership has been debunked . . .
Years of academic studies prove leadership is learned, nurtured, and fertilized by a willingness to step up and test it.
And while I want to make this about building strong family leaders in our sons, I can’t!
I can’t because too many, far too many, men today, shy away from being family leaders.
We deny our responsibilities to our families.
We complain about how life is and spend time doing nothing but wishing how life was . . .
We are too comfortable to recognize that if our future generations are going to amount to anything, we have to take action today!!!
And if the studies are right, we need to:
Find out our emotional intelligence and work on areas we are emotionally immature.
Put ourselves into positions that test our leadership skills . . . yes ease into it but even crawling is better than what most men are doing right now.
Read your Bible every day! Pick up other great books, fiction and nonfiction, that speak to leadership and harsh situations,
And, last of all, stop hoping for an easy life! God never promised and easy life. (James 1:17; Galatians 6:8; Proverbs 3:5-6; Romans 8:1-39
Men, if you want to grow your sons to be leaders, take the step to grow yourself first!
