Psalm 78:1-4 says, “Give ear, O my people, to my law: incline your ears to the words of my mouth. I will open my mouth in a parable: I will utter dark sayings of old: Which we have heard and known, and our fathers have told us. We will not hide them from their children, showing to the generation to come the praises of the LORD, and His strength, and His wonderful works that He hath done.”
How are we going to keep the spiritual dream of our American ancestors alive? We must preserve our history.
Do you know what one of the major responsibilities of fathers and grandfathers is? It is to teach history. And I regret to say that very little of that is done these days. But you see, according to the Word of God, there is to be a spiritual chain between the past and the future. And the fathers and the grandfathers are to be links in that chain.
If we do not teach the next generation about our spiritual heritage, then we are one generation away from paganism. God depended upon the fathers and the grandfathers to teach the spiritual history of Israel to their children. Should we not teach our children therefore, the spiritual history of America?
