“The Virtue of Patience”
By Dennis Lee
Solomon gives us this piece of advice when it comes to life.
“The end of a matter is better than its beginning, and patience is better than pride.” (Ecclesiastes 7:8)
Patience during a problem is not easy, but it will produce more in the end than moving ahead in our pride without God.
The Bible says that whoever is patient has great understanding and, in the end, will reap a bountiful harvest. (Proverbs 14:29; Galatians 6:9)
Patience will also give us strength to accomplish the goals in life
“But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.” (Isaiah 40:31)
Therefore, be patient in the problems that come with life knowing that God is testing our faith, and when we do, we will, in the end, be perfect, complete, and lacking nothing. (James 1:2-4)

I find that God is far more interested in building our character in the midst of our perceived problems than immediately getting us out of them. What we need to remember is that every trial that we go through to test us is also preparation for what He wants to do in and through us. I have stood on the scriptures mentioned here in Galatians 6:9 and James 1:2-4 many of times when I have been tempted to try to get out of my situation on my own rather than letting God guide me. Patience may not always be easy; it’s a process is well worth the wait.
Thank you Debbie, I know how hard it is to wait upon the Lord. That’s why I also love Psalm 27:15 that says, “Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!”
I pray you have a great week and God bless
