Thought For Today: “Life’s Antibiotic For Hurt”
The happiest people are less forgetting and more forgiving.
There is a basic fact of life, and that is, everyone gets hurt by someone!
Sometimes these hurts are verbal in what people say to you or about you. Other times these hurts may be non-verbal when people turn their back on you, or through lack of affirmation. These hurts may also be physical in nature, such as the hurts of abuse. These hurts may also involve hurts done to others, or they could be hurts that affect our pocketbooks putting us into financial debt.
People carry around deep and painful wounds; wounds of betrayal and disappointment or hurts that seem to defy our ability or anyone’s ability to cure.
But there is a cure. It’s called forgiveness. Forgiveness is life’s antibiotic to hurt and pain. When applied it will bring health our body, soul, and spirit. It’s life’s antibiotic that will bring back life.
Samuel Johnson said, “A wise man will make haste to forgive, because he knows the true value to time, and will not suffer it to pass away in unnecessary pain.”
