You Are Chosen
Take the Levites instead of all the firstborn among the sons of Israel and the cattle of the Levites. And the Levites shall be Mine; I am the Lord.” NUMBERS 3 :45 (NASB)
As I sit watching birds this morning going back and forward to the bird table, I see that the peanuts are the favorites of the Bluetits etc. Meanwhile the fat balls get hammered by the mob of starlings occasionally and the seed has a visit now and again. But sometimes that order of choice is upset, like now there is a Great Tit on the fat balls! It is all a matter of choice. It reminds me of school playtime games, captains choose their teams carefully for their fitness and football skills. Life is all about choices and being chosen, or not sometimes.
God chose the tribe of the Levites to serve Him in His temple over and above other notable options; the Levites were not the most favored by men or the biggest tribe, but they were God’s chosen to serve Him. Throughout scripture we see examples of those chosen not being who men would choose; God chose a humble carpenter and his young bride from a despised northern region to be the home for His Son. That Son went on to choose common working men to follow Him, rather than the great and good of society. What made these folks special was that He chose them!
Dear reader, you may not be favored by your peers, indeed you may be despised by them, but Almighty God chooses you today. The Prince of Glory has saved you for His own, despite your weakness or inability He loves you. Stand tall today, you are chosen by Him!
