Faith In Action

FOR WE WALK BY FAITH, NOT BY SIGHT⁠.

2 Corinthians 5:7 (NASB)

How is your faith today brethren? Is it a mild belief or an active lifelong source of hope in the Triune God? Yesterday I came across a familiar Irish Celtic Blessing which says this:

“May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face; The rain fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of his hand.”

I remember it from my early years when I was learning about Celtic Christianity. What I love about Celtic belief is the simplicity of it; often using God’s Creation symbolically in prayers to illustrate the work of God. Celtic Christians have a strong belief in God working and speaking through nature; drawing His children closer to Him. The words of Celtic prayers and blessings such as the one shared here ooze with faith in God; the Father who seeks and touches His own. The writer of the blessing I share here today is unknown, some think it may have been St. Patrick. But what is certain is that the writer had faith in Almighty God to touch men, including the subject of this blessing.

Dear Reader, do you have faith that believes; faith that sees the action of God in what surrounds you each day? May the blessing shared here be my prayer for you today. May your road be straight and your walk easy, may you know the warmth of God’s smile, and may He bless you and make you fruitful in His Word. May He always be close to you, and you to Him.
