“It’s All Mine! “

And do not neglect doing good and sharing, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.

Hebrews 13:16 (NASB)

Today I give you a picture of Sid the Squirrel from this morning, he’s not a very friendly critter at all. In fact Sid is selfish to the point of violence, just ask poor Mark our neighbourhood Magpie. Sid was stuffing his wee face when down flutters Mark from the trees to join him for some breakfast, but Sid was not too happy to see Mark. I watched in amazement as time and again Mark tried to get some food, only to be attacked by Sid (Vicious). Poor old Mark gave up on this eating establishment and flew off in dismay, leaving Sid standing guard atop his bird table.

Sadly though humans can be just as selfish as Sid was this morning. People jealously guard their belongings, time, space and even friends. Often they see those in need and cross the street, just like the priest in the parable of “The Good Samaritan” (Luke 10:30-37). Yet if like the Samaritan we have compassion and come to the aid of the needy it is an act of love, and a sacrifice pleasing to God (Proverbs 19:17).

Dear reader, as God has compassion on you go and do likewise today. If you see a soul in need, be it for a kind word, a helping hand or even food, accept the opportunity to share with them freely. Pray for such meetings and pray for those you meet, your sacrifice of love will be rewarded by Him.

Dear Alan, Thanks for this message. it is true we live in an “It’s all mine” and a “Me first” world. The lord knew love would be a difficult thing for man and this is why he commanded; ” Love one another as I have loved you.”

Lets ask ourselves this simple question; “Where would I be without love? “or” what can I do without God?” Sharing is caring . It’s not how much we give but how much love we put into giving. A life not lived for others is not a life.

    Your Friend – His servant,
