Freedom from Bondage

When I think about spring, I don’t just see a change in seasons—I see a reminder of God’s faithfulness.

Winter can feel long. Trees stand bare. The ground appears lifeless. And sometimes my spirit feels the same way—quiet, waiting, even weary. But spring whispers a promise: what looks dormant is not dead.

Scripture tells us, “See, the winter is past; the rains are over and gone. Flowers appear on the earth; the season of singing has come.”Song of Solomon 2:11–12

Spring reminds me that God specializes in bringing life out of what seems barren.

Just as Passover marked Israel’s freedom from bondage, spring carries the echo of deliverance. God did not bring His people out of Egypt to leave them in the wilderness forever—He brought them out to bring them in. In the same way, Christ brings me out of spiritual bondage into peace.

After His resurrection, Jesus stood among His disciples and said: “Peace be with you.” — John 20:19

This wasn’t just a greeting. It was a declaration of shalom—wholeness, restoration, reconciliation. The storm had passed. The grave had been conquered. Fear no longer had the final word.

Spring feels like that moment.

The earth softens under the latter rains, just as my heart softens under God’s Spirit. Scripture promises: “Let us acknowledge the Lord… He will come to us like the rain, like the spring rains that water the earth.” — Hosea 6:3

What I once saw as delay, God was using as preparation.

Winter represents testing. Silence. Waiting. But spring represents growth. What was happening beneath the surface all along now became visible.

“Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.”Psalm 30:5

Spring is God’s quiet reassurance that joy still comes.

It teaches me that peace is not the absence of hardship—it is the presence of Christ. It reminds me that resurrection always follows surrender. And it assures me that no season of my life is wasted.

The same God who renews the earth renews my spirit.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!”2 Corinthians 5:17

Spring is more than weather.
It is freedom from bondage.
It is the calming of storms.
It is the promise of new life.
And every blooming flower
declares what my heart longs to believe:
God still brings life out of winter.

Yes, freedom from bondage is a divine right available to all through the understanding and application of Truth, God. Slavery is not the legitimate state of man and humans should actively claim their freedom as children of God. To gain this freedom for oneself and others, one must “live love—be it—love, love, love, love”

    Your Friend – His servant,
