Scripture and a Prayer: “No Place to Run/No Place to Hide”

Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?” (Psalm 139:7)

Prayer:

Lord, I remember so vividly my childhood when we use to play, “Hide and Seek.” Where we would find the best hiding place where nobody could find us. And I realize that I often play this game with You, where You have called me to do or not to do something and I try to hide, not physically, but mentally and spiritually. Sometimes it’s through escapism into social media and entertainment, but it can also be through ministry where I hide myself thinking I am doing something for You. But the truth is there is nowhere to hide, and it is better for me to come out into the light of Your truth and love and follow You rather than trying to hide. Therefore, I want to thank You Lord for loving me that Your presence continues to pursue Me. AMEN

Thank you for the reminder! Sometimes we get lost in the doing because we know that if we stop we have to face the reality of today, although the intention seems right!

That is such a great insight to realize that even ministry is something we can “hide” ourselves in and not even realize we’re doing it, because we become so busy. In the attempt, we can find ourselves trying to serve, not with God’s strength, but with our own. That can deeply hinder the fruit that God wants to produce in and through us. I am so glad that God never stops pursuing us or keeping us in His presence. Then when we stop what we’re doing and seek, repent and obey Him, He will restore us.
